What is EMDR Therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy is an evidence-based treatment for PTSD that helps individuals resolve past traumatic memories and current emotional challenges. It is effective in treating various issues, including depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and low self-esteem. EMDR enables the desensitization and reprocessing of traumatic memories, resulting in reduced distress and more positive self-beliefs. The effects can be rapid and long-lasting.
The American Psychiatric Association, the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Defense, and the World Health Organization have all endorsed EMDR as an effective treatment for PTSD.
